About this deal

does not give the idea of being an entry level DAP, especially from a qualitative and multimedia point of view. Shanling or Shenzhen Digital Shanling Techno is a huge company from Shenzhen, China, focused on delivering music, as life is short, and you need to play more.

Shanling M3X vs Shanling M2X (340 USD vs 220 USD) – The sound of M3X is much more open, forward, and has more life. M2X had little driving power, but that is not a problem on M3X, it can drive a ton of heavy headphones on Balanced, and M3X is what I would like to call a great offer at a great price. M2X is still nice and sweet, but a bit limited, and the way Android is implemented on M3X makes it a far better option if you’re into Tidal. You do get MQA as a bonus, and while I still don’t strongly support it, I do think it is a great idea to test MQA and make an opinion for yourself on whether you like it or not. I am an adept of critical thinking, so please also take all my works with a grain of salt, I do spend at least a month with every product, as per review policy, but that can’t compare to some things that are really important to you and you only, like certain features that are core for your usage. Tantalum capacitors are used in the circuitry to enhance dynamics and Shanling also puts in custom coded FPGA chipsets, KDS Femto grade oscillators to lower jitter.Roon(NUC)+ HQPlayer(MBP) -> Singxer SU-6 with Ferrum Hypsos(I2S) -> Sonnet Pasithea -> Schiit Freya+ -> EC ZDS/ECP DSHA-3F -> ZMF Ironwood VC/ Ziricote VO/ Aged Cherry AO/ 800s Hello thanks for the great review. I have a little question which DAC is more worthwhile (as a fun player) {I already own a FiiO M11 / M15 & others} the M3X or rather the M6 2021? I can not decide….*thx and kind regards This pairing offers a linear and fairly neutral presentation. The EVO‘s bass is tight and fast, quantity-wise it is adequate but the sub-bass extension is somewhat limited. The midrange is clear and the general presentation is transparent. The upper midrange shows quite a bit of energy and the treble extends into the top octave. The separation is good and the instrument positioning is precise. Pairing: Earsonics ES-3

I have previously worked on their M5s, M6 and both of these were the best sounding DAP of their time, much better at balance and value proportions than their competitors like DX120 or DX160. Even the Sony ZX300 had more colored and uneven emphasis across the spectrum.Part 3 - Sound Configuration SettingsHere is where I describe the sound differences between different outputs, lowpass filters, gain modes, and DAC modes. With Hifiman and Final Audio’s TWS earphones tested on the M3X for a few train rides, I am not experiencing any issues. MQA Now moving on the audio specs it uses dual ES9219C DAC chip which gets help from KDS crystal oscillators. In single ended mode the separation has improved from 65db with M5s to 75db and balanced crosstalk goes super high to 115DB. M3X is a fairly balanced sounding dap, with a very good amount of body and three-dimensionality. The Saber DAC, gives a little more texture to the mid and mid-high range, without ever becoming excessive or invasive. The speed of execution and the recovery of details are also good, which at times leaves favorably It is not a DAP for bass lovers beyond all things. In the sense that it has a full-bodied, present, warm bass, but always very correct, defined and circumscribed. And here the Dac Saber does its part. In the mid-range M3X plays with exemplary body and correctness, again in reference to its price range, of course. The amplification is really excellent, which always seems to work smoothly and always leaves the feeling of still wanting to turn up the volume. With the VE3, M3X amplifies its full potential as it seems to fit perfectly with the Vision Ears sound philosophy. Although I personally preferred (but here it comes down to subjectivism) Faerless S8P and Dunu SA6, where everything manifests itself in a faster, clearer, more open way to the detriment of the warmth of the mid-range, its body and its involvement. emotional. With the TSMR 5s, the MX3 sounds very similar to the VE3s but with a slight high-end brilliance. The opening of Prince's 1999 song (listened over and over again with all the IEMs listed) made me prefer the balance of the VE3 to the brilliance (but I'm on top) of the TSRM 5. For the rest the two IEMs behaved the same way. In terms of nuances, the quality of the VE 3 was preferred, but the TSMR 5 had an enormously wider and wider stage. And here it becomes a matter of preference.
